Traditional Use
An accessible and safe herbal ally, peppermint has traditionally been used to support healthy digestion and ease nausea. Most commonly prepared in tea form, peppermint can be combined with a variety of other herbs to balance its cooling properties. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, peppermint, or Bo He, supports the liver and lung to regulate the flow of Qi and support some symptoms of hay fever or common cold.
Spiritual Use
There’s evidence that shows peppermint has been used as early as 10,000 years ago! Ancient Egyptians boasted its benefits in combating an upset stomach. Assyrians used mint as an offering to the fire gods.
Research
Peppermint and its extracts are being researched as an effective tool in combatting nausea and loss of appetite with chemotherapy patients.
